Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our house to yours!

We finished off the decorating of our house for Halloween. Olivia drew out the sketch for the Jack O'Lantern face, and I rendered it in the medium of pumpkin. The ghost is something that I did years ago, and just found tonight. With a flashlight aimed from the bookshelf illuminating it, it makes for a nice effect.

I finished her costume tonight, just in time for her big party at preschool tomorrow. She's going to be a witch. As always, it was down to the wire, but it's done, and looks great.

I knew there was a reason why I like the colour of the tree in the front yard...

It's a boy!

Xander David was born at 1:18 pm, weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs, 4 ounces, and measuring 22 inches in length. Mom and baby are doing great, although the labour came on so quickly, there was no time for any meds.

Ouch.

The waiting is the hardest part...

My brother's girlfriend is currently in the hospital, willing their baby to make an arrival. She was admitted on Friday, and has been through four inductions, each of which has been unsuccessful. Last night, the doctor broke her water, and put her on a pitocin drip, and still, this morning, no baby. Every time the phone rings, and I see that it's my mom, I think that this will be the call that we've all been waiting for, but no.

It's hard to just wait, and wait, and wait, but I can't imagine how stressful this must be on both my brother and his girlfriend.
