Wedding

The wedding and all the parties are over, and it was incredible. We had the most amazing photographer. Here's how good she is...she was with us from 11:00 in the morning, until after 9:00 at night, then went back to her studio and posted a few pictures on her blog. She also wrote the nicest posting about her day. Check it out here.

Ring bearer pillow

I found a pattern online for a ring bearer's pillow with a really neat feature. I didn't want fake rings tied on the top, but I also didn't want our rings just tied on with ribbons.

The flowers hide a ring box, or in this case, a hinged box a necklace came in. I just lined it with leftover pink silk dupioni from the girls' dresses

I may have to change my avatar picture

I finally got my hair cut. I've been growing it out for over a year, and I haven't seen a hair stylist since March of last year. So, figuring that my mop of hair needs some help before the wedding, I got it cut. I found a great stylist, AND she offered to straighten my hair. I don't think she fully realized how much work it was, because my really curly hair doesn't like to be anything but curly. She got a really good tip, because she did an amazing job.



Now, of course, I want to have straight hair more often. I'll have to start at 5 a.m. to make it to work on time.

Just as a frame of reference, this is what I looked like on Valentine's Day, 2007. Ignore the double chin. That was also twenty-five pounds ago.

The Dress!

So, the dress is almost done. Which is good, since the wedding is next Saturday. I would have been done sooner, if I hadn't messed up and forgot to flip over the one back skirt piece. It's pretty hard to do anything with two left back pieces. So, a frantic fabric order was placed, and thankfully it arrived in time. I'm really happy with it, but I don't know if I would tackle such a huge project again.

Donnie has standing orders to thump me on the head if I do.
