Weekend getaway

We went into the city this weekend, and had a great time. There was an Andy Warhol exhibit at the Mackenzie Art Gallery Olivia loved it, and it was nice to get to an actual gallery. It was also nice to try and explain some of the paintings to Olivia. As she gets older, she should have more of an appreciation for the work.

My swatches for my dresses came, and now I just have to order the fabric. I am so happy that I found some great resources online. The fabric stores around here are a little lacking in high-quality fabric. I chose silk dupioni for the girls' dresses and the swatches from Farmhouse Fabrics are amazing. There are minimal slubs, and the surface doesn't have that abraded, fuzzy look. Plus, it was half the price of the stuff that I found here, which had big lumps woven into it. Not very good for running through a pleater. I'm excited to get started.

I'm also working on another dress. We're going to Phantom of the Opera in April, and I need something to wear for that. I wrote about it earlier, and now I'm finally getting around to doing it.
